Cienfuegos province

Until 2011 Cienfuegos was the littlest area in Cuba (barring the city of Havana and the Isla de la Juventud) with an economy for the most part devoted to the developing and handling of sugar. Sugar factories and sugarcane estates dab the scene. There are cascades in the sierra of the region.

Scuba jumping off Cienfuegos territory is amazingly well known both with voyagers and local people. There are various submerged gives in, and well more than 50 jump locales in the area.

The territories of Cienfuegos, Sancti Spíritus, and Villa Clara were previously all piece of the now old territory of Santa Clara.
